Waxing is currently the most popular form of hair removal and is the most preferred method used today.
There has been an insignificant increase of men favouring this method too, with back waxing being very popular. The most common areas treated are the legs, under arms, lip, chin and eyebrows. This is a great alternative for people who find shaving irritating to the skin.
Because the hair is pulled from the roots it can take up to six weeks to grow back and the more treatments you have the more the hair is weakened. Therefore some hairs will not grow back at all.
Some areas can be a little unpleasant but the more often you have it done easier it is until eventually it can be a pleasant experience. Little sections are done at a time meaning there is never going to be large amounts of wax to pull off in one go. This will ensure minimal discomfort to the client.
The area will first be prepared with an antibacterial lotion to minimise the chances of infection. Most of us will experience tiny little red spots, which are normal. Some clients will experience a reddening of the skin and clients with course hair tend to have little blood spots. These are more common on the underarm and bikini areas. A soothing lotion will be applied after to minimise the effects and providing the aftercare advice is followed there should not be a problem.
We use a warm wax that has it’s own special heater. This takes the guesswork out of temperature control, making it safer for the client.
It is vital that you follow the aftercare advice as given by your therapist, for 24 to 48 hours after your treatment. This includes:
Full leg wax – £20
Half leg wax – £15
Bikini line - £ 7
Lip – £5
Chin – £5
Eyebrow - £5
Chest - £15
Back - £15
Under arm wax £7.00
