Lash and brow tinting is a becoming a popular choice for women today, with many advantages such as the need for less, or no make-up. It’s great for those who participate in vigorous sports and activities, such as swimming, and saves time if you’re always in a hurry. It’s amazing the difference a lash, brow tint and shape can do to enhance the facial features, and it’s not just for the ladies! Men with fair lashes and brows can benefit with a little enhancement too! Why not give it a try and see the difference?

What is involved?
Firstly all eye make-up is removed so that the tint will take. Protective shields and vaseline are applied under the lashes and brows to protect any dye from getting onto the skin. The dye is mixed with peroxide and applied to the lashes for around 10 minutes. The dye will be left on the brows for a much shorter time as they take much quicker. When all of the dye is removed you may have an eyebrow shape or tidy if required.
What if the colour doesn’t suit me?
Your skin and hair colour will be taken into account and the therapist will help you decide what colour would suit you best.
I’m worried the result will be too dramatic for me.
On your first visit the dyes are only left on for a minimum time to avoid going too dark. If you are not satisfied with the result, the procedure can be repeated to give the desired result. It is better to repeat the process twice than end up with something you are not happy with. This is normally only apparent for the first session and next time you will know how light or dark you want to be.
How long will the results last?
Everybody’s hair is different and will shed at different rates however, as a guideline we normally say around 4-6 weeks.
What happens if I have an allergic reaction?
This can be avoided by having a patch test at least 48 hours before tinting. The test involves putting a tiny amount of the mixed dye onto the skin, either on the inside of the elbow or out of sight behind the ear. This is to ensure that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients used in the products. If you have had a patch test at another salon you will still need a repeat test, as different brands may cause different reactions. Please call to arrange a patch test or why not have another treatment and have a test before you leave?
Please inform your therapist if:
- You have had any itching, redness or swelling from the patch test
- Have any eye infections
- Wear contact lenses
- Hypersensitive eyes/skin
