Are you fed up with pain, discomfort or illness? Have you tried many options but feel nothing has worked? Are you sick and tired of taking medications that never quite cure your condition, or give you side effects? If so then maybe you haven’t tried Acupuncturte.
What is the first thing you think of when someone mentions Acupuncture? You may flinch and say ‘No, that’s not for me thanks’ Maybe you’ll think it would be too painful or perhaps you’ll have visions of yourself resembling a pincushion!
It is true, many of us regard Acupuncture as a painful treatment that requires lots of needles but this is not necessarily the case. Many people who were once reluctant or sceptical about Acupuncture have been pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Let me tell you a little more about it.
Acupuncture is a popular treatment originating from China and has been practised for centuries. It popularity and success has led this therapy to be practised worldwide and many people are considering Acupuncture as an alternative for treating pain and discomfort.
Acupuncture is recognised by the World Health Organisation and has undergone scientific studies with favourable outcomes. These studies have concluded that Acupuncture is an effective way of treating pain and discomfort. Several doctors are now considering Acupuncture as an alternative treatment to painkillers and many of these doctors are Acupuncturists themselves.
They very thought of needles stuck into the body horrifies many and conjures up all sorts of images. Acupuncture itself causes little or no pain, as the needles are very fine and are of hair like structure. Some may not even realise they have been inserted where as others may feel a slight tingling sensation.
A detailed consultation will be taken in order to gather important and relevant information about your state of health. Some of the questions may seem irrelevant but are necessary in order to build an entire picture of a person physically, mentally and emotionally. This helps to ensure a better treatment plan tailored to suit the needs of the individual.
It is probably easier to tell you what cannot be treated with Acupuncture. Terminal illness, auto immune diseases such as AIDS, and strong virus, do not respond so well to Acupuncture, however the symptoms and severity of the illness may be lessened and certainly the side effects from drugs will often be minimised.
Acupuncture works very well with the following:
That is a difficult question to answer, as everyone is different, however, it really depends on the severity of the condition and how long it has been present. On average most people will need around 6 treatments relatively close together with top ups on occasions. Some individuals are lucky enough to only need one or two treatments.
So, are you convinced yet? If you really care about your health and wellbeing then Acupuncture is for you, after all you have nothing to lose and if you are one of the few who do not respond to it then you haven’t lost much. Unlike many medications of today, Acupuncture has no side effects and is totally safe.
Acupuncture is the way forward to a healthier and more balanced lifestyle so what are you waiting for? Feel free to call for more information and reassurance!
